White Friday 2026 runs from Friday 27 November to Monday 30 November across the UAE, Saudi Arabia and the wider GCC.
It’s the Middle East’s biggest online shopping event of the year — the regional equivalent of Black Friday — and in practice, most retailers now extend promotions across the whole of November.
When is White Friday 2026?
White Friday always falls on the Friday after US Thanksgiving, which is the fourth Thursday in November.
Unlike the one-day US Black Friday, White Friday was designed from the start as a four-day event running through to Cyber Monday.
What is White Friday?
White Friday is the Middle East’s version of Black Friday: a concentrated period of deep discounting across online and physical retail at the end of November.
It’s observed primarily in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, and has spread to Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar and Egypt.
For shoppers, it’s the year’s biggest discount window.
For ecommerce businesses, it’s the single heaviest test of your stock, website and delivery operations — usually compressed into four days.
Why is it called White Friday and not Black Friday?
The name comes from Souq.com, which launched the event in the region in 2014.
Rather than importing “Black Friday” directly, it was rebranded as White Friday out of cultural respect. Friday is the day of worship and gathering with family and friends across the Arab world, and “black” carried the wrong connotation.
The name stuck.
Amazon, Noon and most regional retailers now use White Friday, while some brands run their own colour variants — such as Yellow Friday and Green Friday — around the same shopping period.
White Friday vs Black Friday: what’s the difference?
Same date, same discounting, different name and slightly different shape.
- Name: White Friday in the Middle East, Black Friday in the US and Europe
- Duration: White Friday was built as a four-day event; Black Friday started as a single day
- Campaign length: GCC retailers typically promote across most of November, while US campaigns traditionally cluster more tightly around the weekend
- Payment mix: Cash on delivery remains a meaningful share of GCC ecommerce orders, which changes how the week runs operationally
White Friday vs Cyber Monday
Cyber Monday is the Monday immediately after White Friday — 30 November 2026.
Traditionally, Cyber Monday was the online-only counterpart to in-store Black Friday. In the GCC, where the whole event is already heavily ecommerce-driven, it functions more like a second wave.
It catches shoppers who missed the weekend or spent it comparing prices.
Many retailers run a distinct Cyber Monday offer rather than simply extending their Friday promotion.
How to prepare your business for White Friday 2026
You’re roughly ten weeks out. Here’s the countdown.
10 weeks out — September: decide and forecast
Lock your discount strategy
Decide whether you’re running sitewide discounts, a few loss-leaders, margin-protecting bundles, or a mix.
Each approach implies different stock requirements and a different marketing plan.
Deciding in November means potentially having bought the wrong inventory in October.
Review last year properly
Don’t just look at revenue.
Review:
- Which SKUs moved
- What the December return rate looked like
- Where deliveries failed
- Why those deliveries failed
Consumer spending in the UAE surged 31% during Black Friday week compared with non-peak periods. It also found November e-commerce sales across the region were 44% above the monthly average, with Black Friday the biggest UAE shopping moment
Forecast your volume and tell your logistics partner
This is one of the highest-leverage things you can do early.
Delivery capacity across the Emirates is finite during peak periods and gets allocated to partners who planned ahead.
A September forecast buys you planned capacity. A surprise on 26 November buys you whatever is left.
Order stock against real lead times
Work backwards from the first week of November, not from 27 November.
Your campaign will likely begin well before White Friday itself.
4 weeks out — October: site and operations
Load-test the site
Don’t ask only: “Does it work?”
Ask: Does it work at ten times the traffic?
Check:
- CDN coverage for assets
- Checkout performance under load
- Mobile page speed
- Payment processing
- Cart and inventory behaviour under traffic spikes
Most GCC peak traffic is mobile. A slow page can lose the sale before the customer even sees the discount.
Publish the landing page now
A White Friday page published in October has time to get indexed before November.
One published on 26 November does not.
Decide your COD position
Cash on delivery behaves differently under peak load:
- More failed first attempts
- More doorstep refusals
- Slower reconciliation
Decide whether you’re capping COD on heavily discounted orders, and make sure your delivery partner knows.
Sync inventory across every channel in real time
Overselling during White Friday is one of the fastest routes from a record sales week to a month of refunds and one-star reviews.
Your website, marketplaces, warehouse and other sales channels should all be working from the same inventory picture.
Set up order alerts
You can’t manually watch every order during peak.
In Quiqdash, you can set rules that email your team when:
- An order goes on hold because of an incomplete address
- A second delivery attempt fails
- Something goes wrong in a specific market
- A delivery fails
That means problems surface the same day rather than the following week.
Plan for returns
December is the returns month.
Staff for it, set your policy before the sale rather than during it, and publish it clearly.
A visible, straightforward returns policy can remove friction at checkout before the customer even places the order.
Peak week — 23 to 30 November: execute
- Watch add-to-cart, checkout completion and delivery success. Focus on leading indicators, not only revenue.
- Put one person on exceptions only. Held, failed and undeliverable orders need attention quickly. The recovery window is often hours, not days.
- Run same-day retargeting. Cart abandonment spikes during peak because shoppers are comparing multiple stores and offers.
- Don’t change the discount mid-sale. Avoid unnecessary complexity once the campaign is running.
December: where the margin is
Deliver well
Many White Friday buyers will be first-time customers, and delivery may be their first physical interaction with your brand.

Refund fast
A two-day refund experience can preserve the customer relationship.
A two-week refund can turn it into a chargeback or a bad review.
Convert the cohort
Run a follow-up sequence in early December, not January.
The objective is to turn discounted first purchases into repeat customers. Otherwise, the promotion risks becoming a one-off margin sacrifice rather than an acquisition campaign.
Write the retrospective while it’s fresh
Record what happened while the details are still clear:
- Forecast vs actual volume
- Best-selling SKUs
- Stockouts
- Delivery failure reasons
- Return rates
- Customer service load
- Campaign performance
- Operational bottlenecks
That becomes the starting point for White Friday 2027.

How long does White Friday last?
The core event runs for four days, from Friday through Cyber Monday.

Use October for site preparation, logistics, inventory management, campaign setup and operational planning.
The main constraints — stock lead times and delivery capacity — are usually decided well before November.
What goes wrong most often during White Friday?
Two common problems are overselling and finding out about delivery issues too late to fix them.
Real-time inventory sync helps prevent the first. Order alerts and active exception management help prevent the second.
